IOQS Does Not Charge Any Sales Tax

No hidden charges nor sales tax is paid when purchasing from China through IOQS. You may, however, need to pay tax when the product arrives in your country. The reason for this is because the product is considered an import, and different laws regulate imports than do mail-order products from within your own country.

Sales Tax or Import Duties Imposed by Your Country

Tax, tariffs, or duties are not incurred for all countries, but some countries do have such charges on imported goods. Determining if any such charges exist is your responsibility. We will not restrict any of your purchases, but customs authorities will follow their country's rules. Many countries do not charge tax on certain goods, or on small shipments — and those that do usually do not charge much.

Calculation of Taxes

Most import taxes are calculated by quantity or weight and/or package content. Larger shipments will have higher tax; smalls shipments will have allowed tax. The content of the purchase may incur additional tax depending on the country and the goods.

Payment of Import Taxes

For smaller shipments, tax payment is usually done by the courier service, who will in turn charge you for reimbursement when the goods are delivered.

Larger orders (usually shipments totaling more than two cartons) is a larger matter, and we recommend hiring a professional and licensed Customs Broker to assist you in the process.

Why You Need to Do the Research

Sales tax on impost, and import tariffs are different in every country, not always consistent at every port, can change often, and depend on the size and content of a shipment. Because of this, IOQS is unable to offer any specific details on tax payment.

For wholesalers, a good way to learn the tax process, if any, is to do a smaller test order. This will introduce you to any necessary taxes, and the process.

Liability for Taxes

The customer (i.e. the importer) is alone responsible for all sales tax, import dues, and any other customs tariffs. IOQS will not accept any liability for such charges, quote/suggest any tax amounts, nor reimburse the customer under any circumstances. Refusal to comply with the customs clearance or import process will most likely result in unavailability of the goods either by confiscation, destruction, or return to China — IOQS accepts no responsibility for such an instance.
